Fall leaves were not popping I unfortunately went way past peak and in fact all the leaves were gone. I was a bit upset I got up so early to get there for leaf peeping but was a bit disappointed when I got there and all the trees were barren.
Still made the best of it and went on a nearby hike for a few hours and did manage to see some fall leaves on the ride back home. But will definitely go mid September next year.
I’m making lemons out of lemonade. Apologies that I haven’t been as active here I just started to get my MBA and have been really busy but I’ll try to stay consistent here. Really do like writing on this blog.
Starting august 18th and ending Sept 18 with a few misses along the way. I started with water color but quickly decided that was not good for me and went with a more comfortable medium, colored pencils. A few of these were traced but I think over all I had improved. Hardest thing I drew was the carousel horse imo. Overall I found this challenge to be fun and really showed me that I enjoy drawing. Stay tuned I’m sure there’ll be more coming soon. Matter of fact this drawing prompt book is very old probably from highschool but I’m nearly finished, so I’ll be posting from there until it ends. I’ve also considered doing more design work. For example the king gizzard and lizard wizard traced drawing(Dall-e) could probably sell some shirts. Stay tuned because it seems I’ll have to get a side hustle very soon. Going back to college 5k a semester and 3k down on a new car got me back in finical ruin, this is usually my default state but I had actually been doing good for a little while there, but I’m back to broke boy status.
Overall what I mostly learned from this is we should all try and embrace our creative and artistic nature and do something that is expressive
I just thought I’d share. I’m really happy that I can do this as an aspect of my job. I’ve been really thinking of getting into drawing/design more and I’ll have a long post about that coming the 18th if things go well.
This is my fourth comic and every time I think I’m out of ideas my brain digs a little deeper to find something new. While I admit I’m still very hard on my drawing abilities I’ve actually been practicing a lot which you’ll see in the long post. stay tuned and hope you had a good week.

I built a wooden model car to resemble my first ever car a 2006 Mercedes hatchback c320. I loved this car so much. Truly the best car I’ve ever driven and I was spoiled to have it be my first. Anyway the wood model itself is not very good but I’m proud of myself for doing this.
Front damage to car happened in a parking lot and I never knew who did it. This was a few years ago at this point I had moved out of the home and no one was using this car but it did still run and I drove it around when I visited. They did sell the car shortly after. Now this photo, my memories and my junky wooden model are all I have left.
McCarthy was right. I grew up hating communism as a default of having cuban grandparents who constantly complained at the destruction and terror this political philosphy had on their home country. But never ventured to understand it, until I read this book. I considered starting with marx but chose this instead. I do think there were some good ideas in this book and do think some aspects of communism can be applied to america’s crony capitalism that would lead to general improvement to quality of life, however my biggest issue with this book was some of the assumptions it makes. True 500 men working a field for a year can make enough food to feed hundreds of thousands, i.e their output of work creates a surplus in production, however it makes a lot of assumptions of everyone working at the same quality and that’s not realisitc, anyone who’s ever done a group project in school can cetainly understand. To me this book is further proof on my previous idea that Communism is a political/economic assumes a lot about people, it’s utopian and unrealistic and always leads to suffering and dispair for many while serving and bolstering the ultra rich, which is idealisitically in contrast to what it claims to do. I’m glad I read this to have a better understanding of communism even if it made my blood boil at points.

Big pile of coins from top left to bottom right it goes : Euro, Rare/novelty, second row; Australia, Canada, USA. Bottom row; Dubai, and Hong Kong, South and Central America
I remember when I first got this Hong Kong coin. Someone’s dad brought it in for career day, I forgot what his job was but he had a bag of foreign coins and each kid got to grab a coin from the bag and keep it. I grabbed the Hong Kong coin and felt like I missed out on some of the bigger options. I was struck but its shape as a kid, and still am now. I became a pseudo-coin collector that day. I still take some money home from any country I visit. I look at the Hong Coin coin now and I’m more stricken by the appearance of Queen Elizabeth on Hong Kong money. She also appears in Canada and Australian money much less surprisingly.
Anyway this is kinda a shit post but I haven’t posted in a bit and was sorting coins today and it felt good. Boy did my hands stink after this by the way.
One of the special things about Colorado is the palisade peach. Grown in Palisade, Colorado and slightly smaller than the standard Georgia peach. The palisade peach season is late July to mid September. I recently have been making peanut butter sandwiches for my lunch and got inspired to make my own jam for my next sandwich.
I purchased about 16 peaches but used 12 peaches for the recipe (10 standard, 1 Saturn white, and one palisade) I have not tried the last two peach variety’s so I did a little taste test before making the jam. And truly I was not the biggest fan of peaches but this was an eye opening experience and peaches have definitely climbed on my fruit tier list.
The palisade peach was a small peach with big flavor. Saturn white was a huge disappointment as aesthetically it is the best looking in my opinion but not the best tasting. I will be buying some palisade peaches to enjoy as a snack before the season ends.
The recipe is simple.
Ingredients: 12 peaches, 4.5 cups of sugar, and 2 Oz of fruit pectin.
Add peaches to large pan begin crushing peaches and cook on low for 20 minutes.
Potato or peach masher??
After 20 minutes crank the heat up to medium and watch until jam begins to boil. Once boiling add sugar and fruit pectin and stir for at least 3 minutes then take off heat. To test if your jam will jam you can take a spoonful of the jam onto a frozen plate and check after a minute to see the consistency. If it is still runny after the plate test boil for a few more minutes.
Once cooked take of heat and put in jars and enjoy your pb&js
Almost ran out of jars, this is a quick and fun recipe that will certainly elevate my toast and pb&j sandwiches. I do regret not peeling the peaches as the potato masher mashed the fruit but left layers of skin in the jam. This is a minor inconvenience and I actually think it looks nice with the skin in the jam but it did make it a bit harder to eat, so I think next time I’ll take the peels off.
This is my first time making jam but I’m sure this recipe can be applied to any type of fruit. So go out there and make a jam today.
You Cant Win is an autobiography, Jack Black the author was a hobo in the dying era of the American wild west. Jack Had grown up idolizing Jesse James and other famous cowboys of that era and soon enough ends up a legend becoming quite a notorious criminal him self, having comitting crimes that ending up in prison 5 times and twice busting out. The book provides an interesting first hand account of a gambling hop addicit criminal and a look into the world of the hobo/criminal underground such as madame houses, opium dens, and illegal casinos. The book ends on a postive note on prision reform which I thought was actually still a good and fresh prespective. Jack Black was flogged in addition to two years time as punishment in Canada. While reading the book I wondered if Jack Black would see American prisions today as better or worse. After Jacks final stint in prision in which he was giving the improbale doubt of a kind judge to turn his 25 year sentence into a 2 year sentence, Jack is inspired by this so much he decides to live a more honest life and believes the justice system should show more mercy in general. Overall I found the book to be an interesting read of a not so historically covered but important era of the death of the cowboy and the turning of the tables for law enforcement, and crime in the country.
Themes: hobo culture, freight hopping, criminal underground, various crimes, autibiography, american history, prision reform, gambling, addiction, honest thief, anti-hero.
Last week on Thursday at around 8pm something I’ve been waiting on for a while finally came to reality. The NCAA football game was back and available to the public.
The last NCAA I played, this game and soundtrack are all time for me.10/10 hugely influential to my music taste
Despite only playing the 06 game I was very fond of it, the dynasty mode was something I hadn’t experienced before in other sports games and I actually enjoyed the aspect of recruiting prospects. I remember for example Reggie Bush was in the game on the Trojans as RB #5 and not by his name, this was the case for every player in the game. Eventually they decided to no longer make the game and the gaming franchise had an abrupt end 10 years ago in 2014 due to legal issues involving players likeness. Thanks to the NIL which allows collegiate athletes to get paid of their image and likeness the game can be made again without any legal issues and with proper names for the corresponding athletes.
In many ways the new NCAA 25 is very similar but it actually has the players likeness. I’m not sure why but my first day playing the game I choose varsity hardness and every game I played (won them all) came down to a last minute score, one game even going to triple overtime. So I enjoy the challenge and hardness I selected but the game is still very much the same as before. In fact this game has no soundtrack only drum lines which you may hear in a college game but can get a bit annoying when you’re in the pre game lobby just messing around recruiting. I do wish they had spent the money to license some songs for the game because more than almost anything else that’s what I remember from the 06 game. Also in the 06 ncaa game you could create a school to start a dynasty with and while that feature is still available in NCAA25 you will have to first go to their team builder website which requires you to sign up for an account as well as a few other extra steps, so I won’t be doing that sadly. That said I have enjoyed the game and will continue to play it even now as I go for my 2nd back to back national championship in franchise mode.
Overall rating 8.5 (fun, good challenging game but lacks heavily in soundtrack and any true innovation to the sports game formula)
