I had turned in the homework intially for a 36 and was totally fine to leave it at that score and hope my grade wouldn’t suffer too much. I tried to do it right. I even got on a zoom call with him to help me understand it more. But even after this I was still having issues so I sent him another email with a slightly improved but still incomplete worksheet and wash my hands with the homework. He sent me a very encouraging email and after reading it I knew I couldn’t give up since my professor hadn’t given up on me. It took me all night and I had to work thru the errors but I was able to finish and get a much better and well deserved grade. Giving me an A in the class which was huge. I’m so glad I did not give up and this has been a huge confidence boost for me, and mentally has made me tougher. Never quit.
I think going into this class I had massively overestimated my excel skills. I learned a lot and would really like to take a moment here to show my appreciation for Professor Campbell. He was fair, helpful, and encouraging. All things you’d hope for in a professor. I don’t think I would’ve been able to do this class on my own.
As far as my continued education I might not be continuing going into 2025. This first semester was really hard and it’s encouraging to know that I can do it. Not only that I pushed myself thru a difficult assignment/class but that I did so with a good grade. But I am not sure if I can continue without financial assistance (thought I’d get some from my employer but didnt) and still waiting to hear back from FAFSA. But I may well take the break for this spring, not what I wanted but what I must do.
Lastly I’ve been thinking a lot about my career and the path I’ve been on in the last 6 years and think it may be time to make some changes.

I always love when data about topics I enjoy can be displayed in a fun way like the Spotify Wrapped. I also enjoy seeing what my friends music tastes are like (and secretly judging) as well.
Here’s my Spotify wrapped for 2024. Despite the growing evidence that the data is not super accurate I don’t have much negative to say other than the vibe names like what would you play for someone who requested “vampire football rap” on the other hand though Heatwave beach reggaton makes some sense. Kanye West returns to the top spot after being dethroned in 2023 by king gizzard. He has been my top artist 5/6 years staring in 2018. Also thought it was interesting to note my top artists first inital goes KDKDK, odd coincidence. Also interesting if you think 58 K is a lot this is actually down over 10k in comparison to last year.
Here are my top 5 songs
1.) Gimme Da Lite – Lil Yachty, Southside Let me say this song sonically is very unique and when Yachty does the CHIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNnnnnnnn at the end of this last verse I levitate. Plus watching the video now for the first time I can say the video is of a similar quality to the song.
2.) Get In With Me – Bossman D Low – I first found this song on tiktok where it became very popular and has ammased 65 million streams on spotify since its release at the beginning of this year.
3.) Juan Martha – La Original Banda de Limon – This one is also coming straight from CartelTok haha I heard it and liked it immediatly and played it pretty much non stop for a day and then only occasionally for the rest of the year. Plus narcocorridos is one of my favorite genres of spanish music (honorable mention to cumbia and boleros) plus the story is good, essentially Juan Martha is so scary and bad that even a 50k bounty won’t make people talk and even the government is scared to chase him because they fear Juan Martha so much. This is the first time ever a spanish song has made top 5 in my spotify wrapped so that was a nice surprise for me.
4.) Like an Eagle – Dennis Parker – I heard this song for maybe 10 seconds before it abruply ends in episode four in the HBO show, and safde produced “The Curse” and had to rewind to shazam it. This is a underground TUNE! Disco is not a genre I usually listen to but can’t help but like this song.
5.) It’s My Life – The Animals – One of my First vinyl purchaces ever was an Eric Burdon record. I have alway been a big fan of The Animals and Eric Burdon and this is one of my favorites and stands out as a superstar for the band. Plus this bass riff is so funky how can you not enjoy it and the accompanying guitar riff, incredible. The songs perfect.
I also noticed my top two songs are combine for a 3:54 listening time. Goes to show you what kind of influence streaming numbers is making on the music industry.
Shorter songs=more plays=more $$.
We first say this stragegy successfully applied with Lil Nas X and Old town road which was #1 for seventeen weeks and beat the record of sixteen held by Drake for in my feelings. To say Lil Nas changed the music industry with this song is not an understatement at all.
If you liked my top 5 go ahead and check out my 2024 wrapped playlist.

Im not a generous person but I’ll always donate to Wikipedia when they ask.

Putting this car in a video game is a good way to market this car to potential buyers. And if anything it helps get his car brand out into the public in a great way, Fortnite is a massive video game. And not only that at this moment it is the only real life car in the game but I’m sure it won’t be long now until other car makers get their cars into the game.

The whole cyber truck thing is pretty wild. I love this car from a design aspect. To me it looks different and in this case different = cool. The car looks great to me. The stainless steel was a great choice of material as it gives the car a raw and rugged appearance, the few painted cybertrucks I’ve seen are still cool but lack curb appeal in my opinion.

This was the first one I ever seen in real life, in an unlikely place too. I will say that this car may not be as rugged as it looks, but damn it looks amazing. Last note this car does scream “rich flex” to me. The price range of a cybertruck is 80k-100k and if your looking to buy a car in that range I think there’s lots of cars that are out right better in just about every way. So the car is just saying I have a lot of money, I like art/design, or electric cars. I personally get excited whenever I see one but don’t see myself ever buying one but would love to rent or drive one one day, maybe that would change my opinion but until then I think it’s a car that can be in a museum and should win some design awards but other than that doesn’t really make much sense as a car.

Full disclaimer I’ve lost twice betting on $SNAP but this recent loss will be the last as I have sold off my position. I believe the glory days of $SNAP may be behind them but they still have some relevance at the moment.
In this post I will discuss some of thier biggest set backs and thier biggest wins. And what I predict will happen to snapchat.
Snapchat is a social media app with over 750 million monthly active users making it 9th place for total social media apps and sites. And the app is reporting growth consistently over the last four quarters as well. That said I don’t see the appeal to it. The main reason people use snap chat is to send messages to each other. People may not remember this but iMessage group chat was not really good and Snapchat was a much better option for group chats, plus the filters were also a huge as no one else was doing that and some of the filters were actually quite advanced for the time.
However today the filters are much less impressive than what other apps are offering. Here is a comparison of the old age filter:

As you can see the TikTok filter does a better job at showing old age than the Snapchat filter. I will say the Instagram filter for old age was really bad I didn’t even include it. Facebook/Meta offered to buy Snapchat for 3 billion in 2013 by was rejected. Since then they have put a lot of what Snapchat does on Instagram. Stories, and reels (which admittedly copies TikTok more but alas) were Snapchat ideas that Instagram copied and improved on. I do understand that Snapchat is still very popular with some users but for me it is a dying social media and I predict a slow tapering off into irrelevance as other apps gain popularity and functionality.
I will say that making a photo edit like this one I made while watching the game today was quick and easy and can only be done on snap, but I sent it to friends via imessage.

Baltimore did not cover the spread but neither does $SNAP. I would not recommend this stock at any price.

I’m not gonna say much other than it was bad and I regret buying it.
No doubt the worst menu item at McDonalds right now. If you want chicken get the nuggets or mccrispy don’t bother with this, reminds me of the chicken sandwich they had at my highschool cafeteria. Also doesn’t have onion like the classic Big Mac does.
It’s no secret at this point but Wendy’s messed this one up bad.
I have long thought that the krabby patty might be one of the 5 most famous burgers of all time which is saying something since its a fictional burger. But seriously ask anyone who was born in 1990-2010 to name 5 burgers and I’m sure one of them would be the krabby patty.
That’s why I got excited when I heard that Wendy’s was rolling out a krabby patty in honor of the classic show. I thought this was a genius marketing move, and while Wendy’s may have seen a bump in sales they messed this one up badly.

You might think this is a regular Wendy’s meal, but this is the Wendy’s krabby patty meal. No mention of spongebob anywhere, not even in the packaging nothing. Would anyone know this is a promotion for spongebob if they weren’t told?
At the same time Burger King did a promotion for Wednsday Adams and by comparasion they did a much better job

Packaging related to the promotion and a funky bun color. While I’m less of a fan of the adams family franchise and burger king in general credit where credits due, they did a much better job with their promotion. And I also think the meal itself tasted better. Burger king also offered a toy for purchase which I did not buy but can appreciate the effort into the campaign by adding a toy. Also the churro fries should be a permanent menu item they were so good, much better than taco bells cinnamon twists for about the same price.
Overall this should be a stain on wendys marketing department and wouldn’t be surprised if some people in that department lost their job as a result of this rollout. They had a massive oppurtunity to do a promotion with not only one of the most famous burgers of all time but also one of the most famous animated tv shows of that era and did nothing with it, badly missing the mark.
But I’ve never carved a pumpkin before

So this year I was torn between either painting or carving one. Ended up doing both. Credit to tiktoker hailey Higgins for the inspiration for the carved “punk-kin”

Over all this was really fun and helped me get into the season. I can’t believe I’ve never done this before.

Wanted to make a profile picture for my goodreads account. Inspired by the name of the account “reading rainboy” which was inspired by the show reading rainbow, really should’ve put a butterfly in this. Might update it to have one.

Love this book. Read this book. It’s great and you’ll feel great reading it. It’s the story of Siddhartha, a training monk. He gets to a point where he says I don’t want to be taught anything I want to experience it so he goes out and lives his life like a normal person would. Dealing with the good and bad aspects of life and his reactions to it. The book ends in a way that beautifully encapuslates the sense that everything in life has a purpose.
You can’t get enlightenment from teaching or experience you can only get it from understanding.
