I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, the hard rock is a world class stadium venue. It’s been a while since I’ve been so there was a lot that’s changed but all for the better. I’m really impressed with what Steven Ross has done with the place since taking the ownership role. He has done many changes to the stadium that have improved the quality with out tearing it down.

Game one was Saturday where UM played ranked Louisville. The UM season is over and it’s been a let down to say the least, I don’t even think I’d call it progress. The team is talented but we can’t win close games. We lost 27-20 and had a chance to win but came up short. The officials were horrible but we lost, no excuses. The stadium was loud despite the smallish crowd. The thing is I doubt they’ll get this place rocking like the OB unless they start winning more. Maybe it’s time to tarp some sections in the 300 level to at least make the place look more packed. UM has a long way to go before we are back to the old days of glory, a tough loss at home that would’ve clinched a winning record and spoiled Louisvilles chance at the ACC championship game.

The next day we went again to watch the dolphins play. The dolphins game was full and had a lot more energy we won 20-13 but it really wasn’t that close but when you have a one possession game you gotta stay to the end and we did. The game was great and the flyover at the start was 2 helicopters which I appreciated as they are less loud then planes. Not much to be said about this game it wasn’t as exciting imo as the UM one but they’re was some amazing plays made. Jalen Ramsey had two huge interceptions, one that sealed the game. Achane came back this game but after one play was injured and out for the rest of the game, don’t think he should’ve gone back out again, if he was so fragile that after one play he’s out again but what do I know. Dolphins have seemed to all but clinch the AFC east.

I realized after this weekend that I truly live football. I have completely lost my voice after two back to back games of cheering and booing and have been chewing down ricola this morning, hopefully my voice will be back by thanksgiving.

So sad in battle is a book that covers the pacific war, specifically the conflict on the Japanese island Iwo Jima and the attack on mainland Japan in 1944-45. We are shown private letters sent by soilders to thier families 2000 km away on mainland Japan. We also see letters and family pictures of perhaps the battles biggest hero, General Kuribayashi. We also learn about his military strategy and life philosphy. I have read the book and watched the HBO series and enjoyed both equally as much.

Lauren Hill and the refugees – this was a unexpected late invite that I could not turn down. We showed up at 7:30 which was just 30 minutes before the opening act ended and the main act started but when we arrived the opening dj hadn’t even started. I think it was around 9pm when Lauren hill first came on. She did the miseducation for about an hour and then performed with the refugees for 2 hours. The show did not end until midnight and I don’t think I got home until 1:30am and boy did my body regret it in the morning It’s rare to see Lauren Hill perform due to her personality so this was a nice treat and man I love the score.

Deadmau5 was here again for his día de lo muertos tour. He is a dj known for over a decade with a catalogue of great hits and is well linked with Halloween thru his tracks ghost and stuff and the unreleased to play us out. Here he had teased a special dnb set and we did get an hour of this. I went on the Friday show and managed to get seats really close to the front. I don’t know what else to saw but I love the mouse he’s truly a Mozart level composer and he’s the guy that really got me into edm and basically the only edm I listen to these days. A great show cant wait to see him again next year. I will say that I like red rocks as a venue, usually sound lighting, facilities etc is good but I still think it’s a super over rated music venue.

I learned through this challenge it is very hard for me to stay disciplined for 30 days. Did my drawing improve? Maybe not noticeably but I’d say yes. Despite this being late none of these were drawn past Oct 31. In fact after losing the plot after day 8 after a week or two of not drawing I spent a day drawing a lot and still realized how far behind I was and lost hope. I drew one more time before the challenge and again today (not photoed) I am a bit upset I did so little but I don’t think that will stop me, I’m on a mission to finish this damn book, expect sporadic updates until completion.

Tonight I’m going out with my cousin to a “UM” bar. I took Miami to cover the spread (14.5+) Miami is certainly not as good as we thought but I think they can keep it to 14, or even win who knows? FSU does look like legit national champion contenders but you still gotta play the game, anything can happen. Miami is not who they once were but this is a rivalry game and we know how exciting those can be. I’m looking forward to seeing the game anyway should be a fun time out and hopefully I get plans for later while I’m out.

This might be my first but of “published” work ever, even if it looks like absolute rubbish I hope the joke goes through. The idea is that cultured milk only comes from cows with culture(ie the opera and ballet and so on) I don’t love it but I do like it. It was fun to do something creative thought I think the result can be improved. I May add finishing touches later.
