Book review: Walden – Henry David Thoreau

Walden is a story of how the author (Henry David Thoreau) spent two year’s in virtual solitude in a self made cabin at near the shore of walden pond in Concord, Massachusettes. Thoreau takes the reader on an introspective journey through nature, self-discovery and the pursuit of a simpler and more meaningful life. His adventure is a classically american act of self-reliance and independence.
The book is sensitive and personal, and at the end I felt as I had achieved a deeper connection with myself and also the natural world.
A timeless book that encourages the reader to reflect on their own life and appreciate the simple beauty the natural world.
