King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard played 3 shows in two nights at red rocks. I ended up selling my Wednesday night ticket and going to an early and late show on Thursday. I liked the early show better, even though I knew less songs and was alone. The late show had a rain delay which sucked because we left slightly before 11:30 which means we got to see maybe 2 and a half hours of the gizz. I was also kinda annoyed that the person I was with was mostly sitting down, and didn’t seem to into it. I did like the portion of the show where they teased super bug and then really got into their more beefy, hellish music but this was later in the show and we didn’t see much of it. They also seemed to take the piss out of one of the song “Rattlesnake” by really extending the song with every band member saying “rattle” over and over for a good 20 seconds. Funny enough this is the first song I heard that got me into the band and is too this day one of my favorites but it seems that the band may not feel the same way. So far I’ve seen King gizzard 3 times and everytime I do I find a new song of theres that I completely love, I really aught to do a deep dive on all there so far 23 studio albums, because I consider my self a big time fan and there was still many songs I couldnt recognize. This time it was crumbling castle. I am in love with this band no one is doing it like them, if you get a chance to see them live do it. I will continue to support this band when they are in my town and I am looking forward to their new album “PetroDragonic Apocalypse” which was played a bit during these shows and has been teased as being “heavy as fuck” by the band in april and already has two songs from it released “Dragon” and “Gila Monster”
